CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â For Guadalupe and Robert Garza, a father and son duo who recycle in Corpus Christi, their biggest recycling-related question is: Whose responsibility is it to roll the recycling cart out to the curb and back?
âI donât think itâs any problem, the elder Garza said after handling cart-duties Thursday.
âOnce in awhile, I do it, his son said.
But otherwise, they said, they re aware of the rules.
Environmental Services: Which Batteries To Throw, Recycle
County Environmental Services News:
The recycling world can be confusing as the rules change often. One item that confuses a lot of people is which battery can be recycled and which battery can be tossed in the trash.
This article covers what can and cannot be thrown in the trash, a little background as to why, and where to take batteries that need to be recycled.
In the past, single-use batteries commonly found in households (AA, AAA, 9V, D-cell, Etc.) could not be thrown in the trash mainly because they were created with chemicals and metals that were hazardous.

CORNWALL, Ontario – The City of Cornwall will be lowering their garbage bag limit for residential properties to two bags, or one garbage can as of Monday, April 5, 2021.
The new bag limit is the culmination of a phased in bag limit program that began in April of 2018 with a six bag limit. In October of 2020, the bag limit was dropped to four.
The bag limit system was introduced with the goal of diverting as much waste as possible away from the landfill. In 2018, the City of Cornwall Council heard that the Cornwall landfill had about 12 years of life left in it, with costs just of closing the landfill estimated at over $36 million.
