Tamar Bucci died in the line of duty when her cruiser was struck by a gasoline tanker on Interstate 93 in Stoneham on March 3, 2022, as she was attempting to pull over to offer help to a stopped motorist.
Massachusetts State Police troopers who were academy classmates of fallen Trooper Tamar Bucci have embarked on a journey to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, where her name will be added to the memorial next week.
The Police Career Incentive Pay Program, also known as “The Quinn Bill,” came to an end for new State Police hires in 2009. That program included incentives for education among troopers. New bills in the Massachusetts House and Senate look to bring the policy back.
