Council tax increase approved for Richmond | This Is Local London

Richmond Council has agreed budget plans that will see residents’ tax bills rise by at least £58. At a meeting of the full council on Tuesday night (March 2) a majority of councillors supported the budget for 2021/22, which will see council tax bills go up by 3.6 per cent. This includes the council’s increase of 0.6 per cent, and an increase of three per cent in the Social Care Precept. Including the GLA precept, which is set by the Mayor of London and increasing by 9.51 per cent this year, the overall increase in council tax for the year will be 4.65 per cent. This means that the average Band D property will see a council tax bill of £1,958.66 for the year, up £87.02 on last year.
