Kirksville seeks grant to construct sidewalks around Rotary Park
Austin Miller
After only having one meeting scheduled for this month, the Kirksville City Council had a special meeting on Monday night to approve an urgent grant proposal.
City staff recently learned of a grant opportunity through the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Transportation Alternatives Program. The city proposes to construct sidewalks around Rotary Park. The actual streets are along New Street from Baltimore to Mill Street, and then along Mill from New to Baltimore.
Along with future planned construction in that area, there should be sidewalks encompassing Rotary Park. This would make a more favorable walking route to the new Aquatic Center.
