Last week, we were provided a reminder of just how prevalent illegal narcotics are in our communities.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department announced the arrests of six individuals on charges involving the possession and distribution of crystal meth. The investigation of a little over a month resulted in several search warrants being executed on a single street in New Cumberland.
The idea of illegal drugs being trafficked through our area is something many of us have gotten used to over the years, but sometimes it is still surprising when such a large operation is announced. The fact the individuals were all found along Commerce Street, pretty much in the backyard of the county courthouse, the sheriff’s department and the New Cumberland Police Department, was even more shocking.
