Quails Gate has plenty of activities planned this year, including badminton, cruises and a workout - Think Local

This year, more than ever, Quails’ Gate Winery is committed to inspiring community and connection by making the winery and estate the perfect place to gather. Exhibit A is its recently launched the Lawn League, an eight-week series of spirited badminton play with a side of the Okanagan lifestyle. League members meet once a week on the winery’s Harvest Gathering site and rally for a chance at victory.

Re-imagined version of the Night To Shine event, sponsored by Tim Tebow Foundation to benefit individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities. This year a participant parade up and down Main Street. The community is invited to cheer for participants, while practicing safe social distancing, or cruise in their own vehicle.

Hays Daily News Gift wrapping volunteers needed: The Salvation Army serving Ellis County needs volunteers to wrap Angel Tree gifts for 125 children in low-income families. Unwrapped toys and children’s clothing can also be donated. Call the Salvation Army before dropping donations at (785) 621-2794. Volunteers wrap from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, in the Hadley Center Conference Room. Volunteers also needed to hand out gifts to families from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, in the same location. Volunteer walk-ins are welcome. Frostfest Parade: 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19. 20-year tradition gets a twist this year. Instead of the usual parade, residents and businesses are invited to decorate their vehicles with Christmas decor and drag Main Street.
