But have no worries, fans of small-town-life-often-imperiled-by-small-town monsters: The series is now gearing up for its fourth season although the release date itself is still strictly TBD. But, since TV shows take time to make and all, the Duffer Bros. have come up with a way to rebuild a little of the old enthusiasm, and tide fans over during the wait: A new scripted spin-off podcast project. Maya Hawke will reprise her role as Robin Buckley in Rebel Robin: Surviving Hawkins.
A Stranger Things prequel podcast arrives on June 29. The show is titled Rebel Robin: Surviving Hawkins and it will focus on the Robin Buckley, the character played by Maya Hawke in the hit show.
The six-episode podcast was announced as part of Netflix s Geeked Week event. Hawke will reprise her role, which she first played in 2019 s Stranger Things Season 3, and will provide some backstory to her character. There s also a tie-in novel titled Rebel Robin due on the same day. Netflix has released a teaser check it out below:
New Stranger Things season 4 cast members announced Molly Edwards
The fourth installment of the much-loved sci-fi series will include four new characters. Netflix unveiled the news at the GEEKED Week event, with the Duffer brothers introducing Anne With An E s Amybeth McNulty, who is joining the cast as Vicky, described as a cool, fast-talking band nerd who catches the eye of one of our beloved heroes.
Meanwhile, Miles Truitt will play Patrick, a Hawkins basketball star who has friends, talent, and a good life, until shocking events send his life spiralling out of control. Regina Ting Chen joins as Ms Kelly, a popular guidance counsellor who cares deeply for her students, especially those struggling the most. Finally, Grace Van Dien is Chrissie: The lead cheerleader at Hawkins High and the most popular girl in school. But beneath the seemingly perfect surface lies a dark secret.

While Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Sadie Sink, and Maya Hawke are all set for a return in season four of the hit sci-fi horror series, the new cast members are Amybeth McNulty, Myles Truitt, Regina Ting Chen, and Grace Van Dien.
