Mice plague causes fire that destroyed NSW family s home

Sky News host Paul Murray has spoken to Aged Care Nurse and mother Rebekah Ward about a tragedy that saw Ms Ward and her family lose their home to a fire caused by the mice plague afflicting regional New South Wales. The fire was caused by faulty wiring in the home caused by the multitude of mice - residing in the roof of the property - chewing through them. "We didn't save anything," Ms Ward said. Ms Ward said thankfully her kids were outside when the fire occurred and they would be starting counselling next week as a result of the ordeal. "No child should have to watch their possessions burn," she said.
