Walk-in COVID testing now available each Wednesday at the John F. Kennedy Middle School in Springfield

Medical personnel Steve Nooney and Maura Shea patiently waited for Springfield residents in need of COVID-19 testing at two desks at the side of the John F. Kennedy Middle School gymnasium on Wednesday.
A total of 13 people had already received testing at the location within the first hour it opened.
Each Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., American Medical Response staff will be at the school on 1385 Berkshire Ave. providing the tests that take up to 72 hours for results to return. Located in Indian Orchard, the site was announced by Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Health and Human Services Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris and AMR on Feb. 12.

Free COVID-19 testing will be held Feb. 9 and 16 at Rebecca M. Johnson School in Springfield for residents of local neighborhoods.

SPRINGFIELD A free COVID-19 testing site will be staged on Feb. 9 and 16 at the Rebecca M. Johnson School. The testing will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is free and primarily for residents of the Old Hill, Upper Hill, Bay and McKnight neighborhoods.
Walk-ups are welcome and no registration is required. Free masks will be available.
