NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) â Police said two women were injured after they jumped from a burning car along Interstate 24.
The crash happened shortly before 6 a.m. Wednesday near the Old Hickory Boulevard exit on I-24 East.
Metro police said the women bailed from the car after it caught fire while traveling down the interstate.
UPDATE: amazingly, the two women inside the car managed to bail out BEFORE the crash. They are both injured because of the jump and are at the hospital.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) â Metro police said theyâre looking for a hit-and-run driver in connection with Thursday morningâs deadly, fiery crash on Interstate 65.
The three-vehicle crash happened around 6 a.m. in northbound lanes near Old Hickory Boulevard in Madison.
Police said the driver of a Toyota Camry told them he was struck by the driver of a full-size white pickup truck, which left his car disabled in the middle of the interstate. Police said he got out and ran to the shoulder.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) â A truck hauling live turkeys has overturned on Interstate 24 West in Nashville.
The wreck happened shortly before 6 a.m. Wednesday in westbound lanes at I-40.
The crash has blocked one lane of I-24 West. Drivers should use Murfreesboro Pike or Nolensville Pike instead.
TDOT does not have an estimated time of reopening.
