Dismissing the pleas in connection to the defamation case, the Gujarat High Court stated that the grounds cited by the AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh for quashing the summons could be submitted during the trial.
The defamation case was filed by Gujarat University in relation to the statements by the two AAP leaders about Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi's academic degrees.
While some of the provisions are laudable, if someone is up to mischief, people can be in a lot of trouble, former Delhi High Court judge Mukta Gupta said.
The Delhi Police contended that "mere fact that DCW is asking for approval of additional posts from the government goes on to prove that the government is the decision maker".
