Realme India boss Madhav Sheth has confirmed the company will hold a big event on May 4 to launch new products. At this event, Realme will introduce the first Dimensity 1200-powered smartphone that the company has been teasing for some time. Right now, it is hard to say what this phone will be called, given rumours have teetered between the possibility of GT Neo and the unannounced X7 Max 5G. Besides the new phone, Realme may also announce a flurry of other products, including a smart television.

Realme has postponed its upcoming anniversary launch on May 4 which would have seen the company launch a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 powered phone along with a new Realme TV and AIoT products. As per rumours, the company would have unveiled the Realme X7 Max in India which is expected to be a rebranded Realme GT Neo. Realme CEO Madhav Sheth had previously announced that the company will be hosting a launch event on May 4 to celebrate its third anniversary in India where it will also launch some new products. However, given the surge in the COVID-19 cases in India, the company has decided to postpone the event for now.

Realme has decided to postpone its upcoming launches due to the current second wave of COVID-19 sweeping across India. The company was scheduled to host a launch event on May 4 to unveil a new flagship phone powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. This was largely anticipated to be called Realme X7 Max, a rebranded model of the Realme GT Neo that was launched in China earlier. Realme was also looking to launch a new Realme TV, presumably the Realme TV 4K 43-inch model at the launch event.
