and doesn t care, doesn t care that that s slowed down, doesn t care that that fox business piece really just put together her pauses and misrepresented how she sounded during the totality of that press conference. and you know, i think this is just a preview, again, of what we re going to see in 2020, and it doesn t get any better from here. not only these videos are, you know, slowed down. i ve heard other guests this morning talk about the presence of potentially deep-fake videos, which are more realistic, are, you know, it s actually the person in it, and you know, words that are not theirs are put in their mouths. so, there s a lot of fear out there about that and an expectation, frankly, that it s going to be used and it s going to happen at some point in the next year and a half. and what will the president s response be if this happens to him, right? if the table is turned here. right. jackie, thank you very much.
increase the diversity in the republican side of the aisle for so long, when you see this, what do you think? well, look, i mean, i d like to see that same picture. i thought we were moving in that direction to get more diversity in the republican party. there s a lot of work do for republicans in terms of being inclusive. one of the things that i mentioned in my concession speech is that there s a sense that you never really take us home. and what i meant by that is the legislating in washington really doesn t transcend into on to the ground. the people that are actually that are suffering, the people that are trapped in poverty programs, the people that really want to be able to get out and be contributing members of society, they re completely forgotten about that. and we have to let people know that these policies actually work for them. and i m tell you right now, that s not the feeling that people get. they re like, you know, we just don t feel like republicans like
single day to help people understand the really severe nature of this. i think this shutdown was the longest in u.s. history, more than twice as long. so we did get to that breaking point and people got to see how dangerous it is when you shut down the federal government who do incredible work that we don t see every single day, we have these amazing federal sector civil servants who make our government run. and when you shut that down it interfaces with private business and the whole thing starts to unravel. so in this case with the airline industry it was very obvious that if planes don t take off, my members don t have jobs, people don t get services to their communities, they re stranded in their communities, and our interstate commerce that we re so dependent upon doesn t doesn t flow. so this is very concerning. and we all know how impactful this was, how important it is that we keep the system going, that we help people understand that if you come to work for the federal gover
