Let’s start with warm thoughts for our neighbors without power in this one-for-the-books, somebody-calm-down-the-TV-weather-folks cold snap.
We went without power in our house for 31 hours late last week. It was a bit warmer then, but I feel the chill of those now without power. The dichotomy of a snowstorm lies in how beautiful it looks but how dangerous it can be. Sadly, for far too many Central Texans, the danger this week far outweighs the beauty.
When we thaw out, it’s going to be interesting to watch our government officials put their heads together to figure out who screwed up. Maybe some of those heads will roll. And there’ll be no shortage of locals who’d volunteer to wield the ax.
