United states and its allies especially the Afghan Forces, have made some meaningful gains. A counterinsurgency is one of the toughest types of war a academicracy can fight. Its been difficult but not impossible and both our future security and the future of the Afghanistan Afghan people depends on our success. You mentioned this earlier, but i think another issue for this generation is the barrier to entry for running for office or participating in the elected political life. And you know, from my experience this generation looks at life differently than others, so running for office or the hill may not be the best way to participate in service. I would be interested to hear what you have to say. What are the Biggest Barriers to participate in politics and why are young people not doing it more . People in Political Office often times today we look at them bickering over things that they dont think matter that the issues are affecting us or doing something without Climate Change making sure they have healthcare for all. Pure navy bill, it will devastate some part of the navy either our shipbuilding or readiness or something, because the high cost of these and because we dont recapitalize them very often. If you look back in history there is precedent for either making this a National Program because it is the most survivable leg of our deterrence or building another ship to accommodate it. The freedom in the early 60s to late 60s and the maritime maybe in 72 it was increased pretty dramatically to build these submarines. To show you in 76 to 80, the navy ship fund doubled.
