Amid a new flareup in Middle East conflict in years, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with French president Emmanuel Macron and other members of France's Jewish community in Paris on Thursday.
The talking points between the leaders included Macron's assurance to Israel that Paris stands in solidarity with Israel in the face of terrorism. Macron also called for peace between Israel and Palestine as the conflict saw a major blowout in years.
After flames were detected in one of its engines, a Calicut-bound Air India Express B737-80 aircraft from Abu Dhabi had to make an emergency landing back at Abu Dhabi airport, the country's aviation regulatory body said Friday.
Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in a statement said the flight which had a total of 184 passengers on board landed safely and none of the passengers was hurt during the incident.

The European Union (EU) member states have agreed on May 19 to reopen their borders to travellers who have received COVID-19 vaccination as the bloc moves to kickstart tourism after over a year of severe coronavirus restrictions, reported the Washington Post citing EU spokesperson, Christian Wigand. However, he did not say immediately when the change would come into effect as a formal final approval is still required for the EU to start travel with a ‘health pass’ even though the passage is without any doubt.
