reporter: well, this is the one paris attacker who got away, salah abdelsalam. we know he s been in contact with friends of his here, that he s desperately trying to reach syria and of course the police trying to catch him before he can do so. he comes from this area of molenbeek, a predominantly muslim region close to us. we ve spoken to friends of ours who say in that neighborhood people will be protecting him. today there ws lines at the belgian/german border. as people searched cars. authorities had him after the paris attacks, and they let him go. if they lose him again, a huge embarrassment. raids were being relieved yesterday after a few tense days here. but the tension resumes today as we knthere is no announcement. what s sure, despite the terror threat, people really need life to get back to normal. schools are closed, subways closed. as long as that happens, they do say there s no dialogue between the government and the people. so people here waiting for another attack. no
