Police identify Pittsburg homicide victim [East Bay Times]
Jan. 6 PITTSBURG Police said they are asking for the public’s help and hoping to provide details after a missing Pittsburg teen was found dead.
According to a statement Tuesday evening, police learned last Wednesday that Malik Pittman, 19, had disappeared, police said.
Pittman had last been seen sitting in a parked newer-model gray four-door sedan in the 400 block of East Santa Fe Avenue with at least two other people when, according to investigators, shots were heard coming from inside shortly before the vehicle drove away with Pittman inside.
After investigators spoke with witnesses, reviewed surveillance footage and contacted area hospitals, they received word Thursday morning from Monterey County sheriff’s officials that Pittman had been found dead in Salinas, and that his body had suffered several gunshot wounds to his torso.
