Atlantic Mining Nova Scotia Inc. says it's "fully committed" to developing Cochrane Hill gold mine after withdrawing from environmental processes for three other mine projects in the province.

The Nova Scotia Government, Port Hawkesbury Paper and an environmental agency say the terms of renewed agreements will mean the paper company takes less timber from Crown land, a key recommendation of the 2018 Lahey Report.
The province has revealed the initial locations where clear cutting may be allowed on Crown land, including in Guysborough, Antigonish, Colchester, Pictou, Lunenburg, Queens, Annapolis and Kings counties.
