Beaten: Lee McKnight was severely beaten up at Charles Street, says the prosecution ONE of the two woman charged with murdering Carlisle man Lee McKnight was seen cleaning up spots of blood in the house where he was beaten up on the day he died, a jury heard. Carol Edgar, 47, was cleaning in the kitchen of the home in Charles Street, Carlisle, where she was living with her 26-year-old daughter Coral, the city s crown court heard. The women both deny murder, as have four men. The court today heard evidence from Raymond Light, who said he knows both women. He recalled July 24 last year - the day when Mr McKnight, 26, was found dead in the River Caldew - because it was his birthday.
