The 2022 Alberta Sires Stakes season wrapped up on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 15) at Century Downs with four $75,000 Super Finals plus $15,000 consolations for the province's pacing stars.
Rookies hit the track at Century Downs on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 1) in three divisions of the $51,000 ABSS Shooting Star, for pacing colts and geldings, and in two divisions of the $50,400 ABSS Stardust, for pacing fillies.
Odds-on favourite Ernesto Delcruz commandeered his rivals and dominated to win the $55,700 ABSS Maverick Final, a race for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings, on a stakes-packed Saturday (Sept. 17) at Century Downs.
It was a last-to-first sweep for Betcha Baby in Friday’s feature race – the $13,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace – at Century Downs, and for those that backed her they were handsomely rewarded.
