A celebration of life was held for Jill Peterson, a Raymond Elementary School teacher who died April 7, on Sunday afternoon at the school on 76th Street.
Hundreds of teachers, students and community members walked through the hallways of the elementary school, which were decorated with memories of and messages to Peterson, whose main saying was Everything Connects.

The words â and symbols, like puzzle pieces and Scrabble boards â were scattered about the hallways during Petersonâs Celebration of Life, a gathering of students, teachers, family, friends and other community members Sunday afternoon at the school.
âIt was her biggest saying,â said Andy Weiss, a teacher at Raymond and a close friend of Petersonâs. âIt was how she thought and wanted her students to think in the classroom.â
