We could tell as we were driving down 76th toward this location that the smell started to get stronger. We do know that right now crews are responding to 3,100 passyunk avenue where they have a facility, philadelphia gas works facility. But we do have information to tell you from philadelphia gas works. They dont believe this is a gas leak, though we can tell you it is an acrid, pungent smell that almost everybody is smelling in the city right now. Theyre calling the Fire Department. Theyre calling pgw, and theyre calling our newsroom to tell us about this right now. Right now we do know that the pgw does not believe its a gas leak because theyve been testing the air. They dont find elevated levels of natural gas. Right now the hunt is on to figure out where this is happening. Everyone is okay but it was a pretty scary sight for anyone near times square. Gun knee the Fugitive Police horse is back in custody after a brief but memorable escape. Police say a sound startled him and threw off the officer riding him. I thought an officer was down because next thing you know, you heard sirens everywhere. Reporter fortunately, the officer had just minor injuries, meanwhile, gunny raced down 48th and took a ride on 6th and 47th, maybe he wanted to avoid the traffic on 6th avenue. This cab driver couldnt believe what he was seeing. Gunny ran up behind the cab and side swapped him. Very unusual. This comes as parents are finding out their children, some of the youngest will be tested for lead poisoning. In his state of the city, the mayor expects to push a bottle or plastic ban 5 or 10 cent deposit to fix the infrastructure. It comes after high levels of the toxic chemicals were found in the citys school buildings. The schools are depending on bottled water weve learned about 2,000 toddlers will be tested.
