Bullet, a 5-year-old Shetland sheepdog, is what Mike Lamont refers to as “a real rags-to-riches story” when it comes to dog adoption.
“His former family was on a camping trip, and Bullet broke his leg at four months old,” said Lamont, who is founder and executive director of the nonprofit Heart’s Promise Sheltie Rescue. “They brought her to the rescue and just said, ‘Well she broke her leg, she’s basically damaged goods, so here she is and we’re going to go get another puppy.’ ”

Public visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 25, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. at Patton Funeral Home. Peggy was born to Iva and Frank Dray, Jan. 15, 1931, in Faribault county. She grew up in Blue Earth and graduated high school in 1949. She met Roger Ellis at Ankeny’s Roller Rink, they married and started a family of seven children, being a stay- at -home mom.

She met Roger Ellis at Ankeny’s Roller Rink, they married and started a family of seven children, being a stay-at-home mom. She was a very active member of Hope First United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir, sewed quilts, and made rugs with the Ladies Circle, and helped wherever she was needed and able. She was always ready to lend a helping hand or volunteer one or more of her child
