Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney have just announced a blue inspired album, that will be coming out May 14th.
“Delta Kream” pays tribute to the blues masters, like R.L. Burnside, and Fred McDowell. However, Auerbach says that in some cases they were “flying by the seat of [their] pants” as many wrong lyrics have been passed down through generations.
Musicians that joined them to record the album include organ player Ray Jacildo, bassist Eric Deaton, percussionist Sam Bacco, and guitarist Kenny Brown.
This new song they’ve released was originally recored by Big Joe Williams in 1941, then later by John Lee Hooker in 1948.

For soul musician Aaron Frazer, inspiration for a song can come from just about anywhere, including a trip to the DMV.
âI was in the DMV in Sacramento because thatâs where my ladyâs dad is. We accompanied him to the DMV one morning, and I was like, âAh man. It would be cool to not go to the DMV if we donât have to,ââ Frazer says. âBut at the commercial vehicles desk, there was a sign that had a union slogan from the â50s that said, âIf you got it, a truck brought it.â I was like, âMan, thatâs snappy.â Sometimes you just see something out in the world, and youâre like, âThatâs a hot line.â So I personalized it to, âIf I got it, your love brought it.ââ
