Dining experience: The dining pod at Holland-on-Sea s Kingscliff Hotel A SEAFRONT hotel’s trendy new dining experience will finally open following the easing of the lockdown. The Kingscliff Hotel, in Kings Parade, Holland-on-Sea, now has its very own weatherproof dining pod with stunning sea views. The stylish outdoor pod was unveiled in December and was inundated with enquiries, but had to close as part of the lockdown restrictions. It will be reopen again and available for bookings from Monday, May 17.

A FORMER coffee shop which closed due to the pandemic now appears to be being turned into a cocktail bar, while a new café also looks likely to open. Harry’s Coffee & Lounge Bar, in Connaught Avenue, Frinton, had to shut its doors last year following the announcement of the first national lockdown. The site had been originally launched by Ray Dowsett, who also owned Harry’s Bar and Restaurant in Thorpe High Street and a coffee shop at Clacton Factory Outlet. Four months after the lockdown, it was revealed the Frinton coffee shop would remain shut and would not reopen in line with the easing of restrictions.
