one of the conspiracy theories go something like this. the january 6th insurrection was a fbi false lack operation. the bureau concocted a plan to incriminate donald trump supporters. there were secret agents and informants among the insurrectionists that day. working to trap maga supporters red-handed. one of the key characters in that conspiracy theory is a man named ray apps. epps did join the crowd on january 6th. he did not enter the capitol. he has not been charged with a crime. he s been caught on video around the capitol that day in the day before. the conspiracy theory starts here are the night of january 5th. give me one minute, can be one minute! on the streets of d.c., tensions were running high at a pro trump rally being livestreamed on the internet. the marine veteran tried to take charge on prior gonna go to jail out there. tomorrow, we need to go into
theorizing that you might expect from a guy like that. i think he started off well. in fact, one of the defense attorney said that it started off well. afterwards. because he came in and we seem as though he was going to accept responsibility what he did. i actually asked enrique tarrio about this during one of these present calls that he did this week. and he was saying that he did not agree with the statement that dominic pezzola was falling on his sword. that is sort of what came across to me is. he sort of came in and was going to take the blame for it, saying that these other defendants should not have to take the fall for what he did. but as his testimony went on a really sort of got a bit out there. he brought up ray apps whenever he could. he called the charges against him fakes. he called the court phony and corrupt. and he maintained this notion that, because of his army training, he was only capable of moving forward. that was, essentially, his argument.
got this legal notice from ray apps, who he made part of his central january 6th conspiracy theory, during, on his program. so, there s all this litigation that scott carlson s name over it. and you have the dominion lawsuit. so, it seems at fox, they said enough is enough. joining me now from los angeles, civil rights attorney areva martin. appreciate you being with us. i, rosemary. so, big news monday morning, fox news abruptly forcing out controversial right-wing host tucker carlson, one week after fox news settled that massive defamation lawsuit with dominion voting systems for more than $787 million. so, why do you think fox forced carlson out so suddenly at this time? was it the mounting incriminating evidence against him, or that text messages he sent, disparaging fox leadership? well, rosemary, it appears
sham that we saw from the january 6th committee and so now, yes, you would think media would you be curious about lots of elements of january 6th like, you know, who planted the bombs outside of the dnc and the rnc and the massive security failures as you mentioned which was actually it was one of the elements that the january 6th committee did look into, as we now know, but was kept out of the final report because they decided to make it all about trump. you would think that maybe they d be curious or at least any rationale person might be curious about ray apps, someone who was a leader of the oath keepers and buddies with stewart rose and the only person on video on january 5th night and january 6th morning encouraging people to go into the capitol and he s getting glowing profiles in the new york times. someone should say what is going on? why is this happening exactly? and so, no, in the service of the narrative, a narrative that no one really in the country is believing, this
question why? on what grounds? the video we showed you last night also showed that officer brian sicknick wasn t beaten to death with a fire extinguisher by protesters on january 6th as the media and liz chaney so often claimed. the video showed sicknick walking around the building apparently in good health after he was supposedly killed. we showed you that video. you can make of it what you will. we also showed you video that proves ray apps, mysterious protester who encouraged others to breach the capitol, lied to the january 6th committee about where he was on that day. but for some reason, the committee protected him any way. he was not considered an insurrectionist, he was their ally. so once again, you can draw whatever conclusions you like from that video. we have ours, and we shared them with you, but it s really beyond debate that it is good for this country for americans to be able to see it. the media and politicians the people in charge have talked about january 6th eve
