The final Z99 Radiothon hosted by CC (whose real name is Wayne Whitten) and Lorie Lindsay raked in $416,938 for Regina’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) this week.
The popular radio hosts took to the airwaves for 12 hours straight Thursday for the 34th annual fundraiser, held in studio this year instead of at the Cornwall Centre. The money raised will go to for Hospitals of Regina Foundation in support of the NICU, located in the Rawlco Centre for Mother Baby Care at the Regina General Hospital.

An era in Regina and Canadian radio is coming to an end.
CC and Lorie, from our sister station Z99, are announcing they plan to retire this spring.
They’ve been waking up Regina for 32 years. CC has been the morning host since Z99 first went on the air in 1982.
When Lorie first joined CC in the morning, the Berlin Wall was still up, Brian Mulroney was prime minister, and the Riders were about to win their second Grey Cup.
A lot has happened since then, but CC and Lorie have been a constant in Regina, on the air and in the community. They’ve emceed, hosted, and promoted countless events and causes. The one closest to their hearts has been the annual Z99 Radiothon for the NICU at the Rawlco Centre for Mother Baby Care.
