Raul Torres Jr., age 34, of Spirit Lake was charged with third-degree theft at approximately 12:01 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 20 in the 1500 block of 18th Street in Spirit Lake. A criminal complaint said a camera at the Spirit Lake Hy-Vee captured Torres taking $1,200 in cash "by pocketing some while doing loan work" there. The criminal complaint was filed about four days after the incident.

A San Elizario man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of firing several gunshots at a home in far East El Paso County, officials said.
Raul Torres Jr., 31, was arrested after he allegedly fired several shots Saturday from a handgun at a home in the 115000 of Valle Verde Road, city of Socorro officials said.
Socorro police officers responded to shots fired call at the home and their investigation led to Torres being identified as the suspect, officials said.
No motive for the shooting was released.
