A 65-year-old man who died in boat crash Monday on Bartlett Lake was identified Tuesday as Matthew Burlington, according to Maricopa County Sheriff s Office.
Burlington was traveling north, against the traffic pattern, in a bass boat shortly before 10:45 a.m. Monday on the west side of the lake north of Rattlesnake Cove, the sheriff s office said in a news release. A second bass boat with two men, ages 61 and 72, traveled south along side a hazard buoy line that warns against a submerged reef.
Burlington s boat suddenly steered into the path of the second boat, which was unable to avoid Burlington s boat and ramped over it, according to the sheriff s office. All three men were thrown into the water.
