Minister Osea Naiqamu says Fiji is in talks with the Pacifi c Islands Development Forum and International Bamboo and Rattan Organisation to establish a $US2 million ($F4.06m) bamboo centre in the country.
Speaking in Parliament on Friday, he said his ministry recognised the potential of bamboo in terms of economic gain and
improving livelihoods for rural communities and the centre would be based at the Ministry of Forestry facility in Nasinu.
