Residents of the Mondaniel area in Rathcormac are calling for action as despite being only around a kilometre from the village, some 40 children living in the area are facing high speeds and a dangerous stretch of road If they wish to walk to school.
National Broadband Ireland (NBI) this week announced that construction has commenced to deliver high-speed broadband to almost 9,600 homes, farms and businesses in County Cork, including to over 3,800 premises in the Fermoy deployment area.
“As a resident of Rathcormac, I have twice been flooded. I don’t want to see my house destroyed a third time,” said Claire O’Flynn who addressed the Fermoy Municipal District meeting as part of a deputation from Rathcormac Flood Group on Tuesday morning.
