Investment firm Rastegar Property Co. has tapped Neal Golden as its next president. The company is based in Austin and focuses on multifamily, office, retail and industrial properties across the Sun Belt.
Golden brings more than 30 years of experience building global and domestic real estate businesses. Before joining Rastegar, he was Newmark’s Texas president. Golden has extensive experience with the Sun Belt region, having lived in many cities across the area, including Atlanta, Miami, Houston and Dallas.

Austin-based Rastegar Property Co. plans to build a portfolio of vintage apartment complexes in Houston and cities across the Sunbelt with the launch of Rastegar Opportunity REIT.
The $200 million, private non-traded real estate investment trust is expected to draw investments from high-net-worth individuals and other investors. We re looking for the cities that have great population growth and have big technology companies relocating, said CEO Ari Rastegar. The pandemic has put the brakes on a new residential tower planned for Dallas’ Uptown area, but the project developer isn’t going to let the vacant property languish.
Rastegar Property Co. plans to revamp the existing building at 1899 McKinney Ave., where it hopes to eventually build a 26-story residential tower.
The existing commercial building – constructed in 1966 – will be renovated for new uses, said developer Ari Rastegar. A construction fence has surrounded the midcentury building since Rastegar purchased the block in 2019.
