A single bench of Justice Bharati Dangre suspended the sentence and granted Joshi, owner of Goa Gutka, bail on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh.

As per the prosecution case, Mr Joshi and another gutka businessman Rasiklal Dhariwal had a financial dispute and Mr Dawood helped settle it. They then helped him set up gutka units in Pakistan in exchange for his mediation. Dhariwal died pending trial.
