About the event
Who holds the power, who has the privilege and what is inequity? Ever heard white privilege and thought, “I am not privileged because of XYZ ?” Being privileged does not mean that you did not face your own financial and interpersonal struggles. It means that your skin color or sexual orientation did not make it more difficult for you to get to where you are and receive the resources you needed to get ahead. We will be taking an in-depth look at what power, privilege and inequity means and how to have difficult conversations about privilege and being an ally while being open to actively learning more.
