Former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, who for decades was one of the most powerful and feared politicians in New York, died a sick and broken man in federal prison, according to a new report.
The victim was jogging in Shirley Chisholm State Park in East New York on Sept. 12 at around 4:15 p.m. when a stranger got off a bike, covered the jogger's mouth from behind and dragged her to the ground, according to cops.
Of the unit’s 300 cops assigned to the unit part of the NYPD’s Counterterrorism Bureau the department is mulling moving 240 of them back to street-level patrol, staffing other commands, including the new 116th precinct in Queens, set to open next spring, sources have said.
