BAINBRIDGE ISLAND – A large influx of rainwater, strains on the city’s wastewater treatment plant capacity and errors in judgement by staff contributed to a spill at the city of Bainbridge Island’s treatment plant earlier this month that sent 250,000 gallons of partially treated effluent into Puget Sound, Public Works Director Christopher Wierzbicki reported to the island’s City Council last week.
