Brac to raise Tk 1,350cr through bonds

Brac to raise Tk 1,350cr through bonds Star Business Report Star Business Report Brac, a non-listed non-government organisation, has received the nod from the stock market regulator to raise Tk 1,350 crore by issuing zero-coupon bonds. A zero-coupon bond is a debt security that does not pay interest. Instead, it trades at a discount, rendering a profit at maturity, when the bond is redeemed for its full face value. The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) yesterday approved the bond, whose face value is Tk 1 crore, according to a press release. The bond is unsecured, non-convertible, and fully redeemable, and its tenure is one and half years to five years. Corporate investors and high net-worth individuals are eligible to buy the bonds through private placement.

ECNEC approves Tk 1,882cr rural water supply, sanitation project 875 DHAKA, Dec 22, 2020 (BSS) – The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) today approved a Taka 1,882.59 crore project to ensure rural water supply, sanitation, following of health guidelines and thus providing WASH facilities to around 4.5 million people for their overall human resource development. The approval came from the 19th ECNEC meeting of the current fiscal year (FY21) held virtually with ECNEC Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair. The Premier chaired the meeting from the her official Ganobhaban residence while Ministers, State Minister, Secretaries and other officials concerned joined the meeting from the NEC Conference Room in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.

S. dollars), a rural water supply and sanitation project. The project was approved at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday. After the meeting, Bangladesh s Planning Division Senior Secretary Md Ashadul Islam told the media that a total of five projects including the rural water supply and sanitation project involving an estimated cost of 33.08 billion taka were approved. Revealing details of the water and sanitation project, Mamun-Al-Rashid, another senior Planning Ministry official, said the Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE) under the Local Government Division of Bangladesh will implement the project at the country s 30 districts by December 2025 with 18.31 billion taka as a loan f
