Henderson County, Ill.- The Henderson County Sheriff's Office has announced the arrest of a Gladstone, Illinois man for attempted Murder. Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) -Zone 4 agents arrested 37-year-old Terrance L. Clopton for Attempted First Degree Murder, Home Invasion, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon. On December 31, 2020, the ISP DCI - Zone 4 was requested by the Henderson County Sheriff's Office to conduct a shooting investigation in Gladstone, IL. During the incident, a male subject was shot while inside a residence in rural Gladstone, IL. The suspect, who fled the area prior to law enforcement arriving, and after a thorough investigation, was later identified as Clopton. GLADSTONE Illinois State Police arrested a Gladstone man for attempted first degree murder in a New Year’s Eve shooting in the Henderson County village.
Terrance L. Clopton, 37, also is charged with home invasion, aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.
During an incident on the afternoon of Dec. 31, 2020, in Gladstone, a male subject was shot several times in the torso.
The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement and was later identified as Clopton, according to ISP.
On Wednesday, ISP’s Special Weapons and Tactical Team executed a court-authorized search warrant in the 300 block of Raritan Street in Gladstone, after which Clopton was taken into custody without incident.
