This week, the Virginia Department of Transportation shared a new photo of beams being hoisted into place. The beams, about 100 feet above the river, will hold the bridge deck in place. The Rappahannock River Crossing Project will add three new southbound lanes, and one new northbound lane to Interstate 95. Work on the bridge began in Winter 2019 and is expected to wrap up in 2022.
