FredNats plan Harambe the Gorilla, military service nights The Fredericksburg Nationals are excited to release their promotional schedule for their Inaugural 2021 season. Fans will be treated to daily and nightly special promotions, 10 theme nights, and 10 exclusive giveaways inside the ballpark. On Tuesdays, fans are invited to “Two Dollar Taco Tuesdays” sponsored by Chancellor’s Village. The FredNats will host two “Bark in the Park” nights on Wednesdays, the first on June 16 and on August 25. All pop-up promotions on Wednesdays will be brought to fans by Rappahannock Goodwill Industries. Fans can grab $2 draft beer at the ballpark on Thirsty Thursdays, sponsored by Rebellion.

Stafford outreach campaign helps residents navigate pandemic s obstacles

The online process to register for the COVID-19 vaccination may be a breeze for some, but a nightmare for others. Since last month, Widewater Supervisor Tinesha Allen, along with hundreds of other local volunteers, has been helping the elderly, lower-income residents and those without an internet connection to get on the waiting list. “A lot of them are not tech-savvy,” said Allen. “The only way we can get out of this pandemic is by working together.” Allen worked with Commissioner of the Revenue Scott Mayausky, George Washington District Supervisor Tom Coen and Fire Chief Joseph Cardello to spearhead a countywide campaign to help citizens register at the state’s COVID-19 vaccine website that débuted Tuesday.

WHEN: Through spring WHERE: Clinics are being held in each locality; at area pharmacies; and Mary Washington Hospital. All slots are by appointments only; no walk-ins are accepted. When people are contacted about appointments, they will be told the location. HOW TO REGISTER: The Virginia Department of Health has a statewide, centralized registration system at vaccinate.virginia.gov. All new registrations will be done through that site or by calling Virginia’s COVID-19 call center at 877/VAX-IN-VA, or 877/829-4682. The call center will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Those who have already registered for the vaccine do not need to register again. However, those who are concerned about their names being on the list can contact the Rappahannock Area Health District call center at 540/899-4797 or rappahannockareahd@gmail.com.
