BHUBANESWAR: With evidence suggesting that the pandemic is moving eastward, the Odisha government has asked the Centre for 30,000 oxygen cylinders, 15 lakh doses of vaccines and rapid antigen test kits on priority.
On Thursday, total 10,521 more tested positive for Covid-19 in the state from among 48,314 samples tested with a test positivity rate of 21.77%. The state witnessed 17 new deaths in the past 24 hours.
State’s additional chief secretary (health) Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra said the state sought 20,000 Oxygen Cylinders 10000-jumbo type, 10000-D Type (smaller cylinders of 47.5-litre capacity).
