Moses Mfe, a robbery suspect, was shot by the police during arrest and left to die with the injury without any treatment at the police custody, according to a lawyer Micheal Utsaha who presented the case on Thursday at the ongoing independent investigative panel on SARS and other units of police in Abuja.

The Independent Investigative Panel on Human Rights violations against the Nigerian Police Force brutality has summoned the Inspector General of Police’s Intelligence Response Team (IGP-IRT), DCP Abba Kyari, and Inspector Vincent Makinde.
The two officers were summoned before the panel in a case of alleged arbitrary arrest, detention, cruel inhuman, and degrading treatment involving Mr. Rapheal Tersoo and Moses Mfe.
The panel chairman Sulieman Galadima (rtd) on Monday said DCP James Idachaba, police’s lead counsel, must ensure that Kyari and Makinde appear before the panel.

The Chairman of the Independent Investigative Panel on Human Rights Violations by the defunct special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and other units of the Nigerian Police Force, Justice Sulieman Galadima (rtd), yesterday ordered the police to produce the Commander of the Inspector General of Police (IG) Intelligence Response Team (IRT), DCP Abba Kyari and Inspector Vincent Makinde before the panel in a case of alleged arbitrary arrest, detention, cruel inhuman and degrading treatment involving Mr. Rapheal Tersoo and Moses Mfe.
Galadima gave the order at the resumed sitting of the panel in Abuja.
Counsel to the victims Mike Usahfa, told the court how Mr. Raphel Tersoo and Moses Mfe were subjected to inhuman and degrading treatment by the police since 2019.
