Akwa Ibom estate demands relocation of collapsed mast

Punch Newspapers Sections Afeez Hanafi Residents of Shelter Afrique Estate in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, have petitioned the state government over the danger posed by the mast of a radio station in the area which partially collapsed recently. They requested the state government and the owner of the station, The Mixx Radio, to relocate the mast from the estate. The residents led by the immediate past Group Managing Director of UAC of Nigeria Plc, Mr. Larry Ettah, also raised several regulatory and oversight issues as to why such a structure was erected in the area in the first instance. The petition was filed by Victor Iyanam & Co chambers and addressed to the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Uwemedimo Nwoko, Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Raphael Bassey, Managing Director, Akwa Ibom Property and Investment Company Limited, Patrick Udomfang and the owner of the station, Friday Ben aka Dollie Popman, who is also the Special Assistant, Protocol to the governo
