Ontario had scheduled more than 60,000 COVID-19 vaccinations by mid-afternoon Monday, launch day of the province’s vaccination booking system, but for many who called or logged on, the experience was more vexing than vaxxing.
Many who tried to book an appointment through the Ministry of Health website entered personal information, including their health card number, only to see a cryptic message saying the “form had been tampered with” and a blank screen. Callers to the provincial hotline faced hours on hold and, in the case of at least one person who contacted this newspaper, were told the number was only for Toronto residents and she would have to book an appointment through Ottawa Public Health.
