KHON KAEN: Three more teachers were arrested for allegedly cheating local residents in two government co-payment schemes.
A combined team of officers from Nong Rua police station, tourist police and Provincial Police Region 4 officers apprehended Ms Walaporn Ladadat, 39, Ms Siriporn Nankasee, 28, and Ms Passawan Konglun, 44, all residents of Yangkham village in Nong Rua district, Pol Maj Gen Phumphong Mukiskul, chief of Khon Kaen police said on Thursday.
Most of the 60-billion-baht government savings bonds have been sold out within less than two weeks, amid investors' risk-off mode due to economic uncertainties, says the Public Debt Management Office (PDMO).

KHON KAEN: A total of 697 people in Nong Rua district, most of them elderly and non-users of smartphones, are believed the victims of a fraud perpetrated by three teachers to steal government handouts to people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
There are 500 from Ban Yang Kham in tambon Yang Kham and 197 from Ban Nong Phue in tambon Nong Phue, both of Nong Rua district.
Consumer sentiment dropped for the second straight month in January, hitting a nine-month low, as people grew concerned about a fresh surge of infections in the country.
