BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. — Former nomadic tattooer Michael Ransom Backus is establishing a permanent home for his art with new business Ransom Tattoo Gallery. After traveling around the country and globe tattooing at different shops and conventions, the Saratoga Springs native has returned to the region to start a studio of his own, along with co-owner and fiancée, Shannon McCarty.
