Richland Fire Chief Brandon Weems is in fair condition after he had been missing for more than a day.Weems was found Wednesday evening after a search involving multiple law enforcement and fire agencies. Prior to that, Weems was last heard from about 10 a.m. Tuesday, Richland Police Chief Russel James said. Witnesses said Weems was found in the attic of his home near Florence. This was made possible thanks to the response of local and state first responders as well as community support, said officials with the Rankin Sheriff s Office. The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office wants to thank all of the agencies and individuals that contributed to the safe return of Chief Weems. During a news briefing Thursday, James thanked the community for their support. The last couple of days have been very trying, James said.
