A Brandon man has been sentenced to serve 25 years for sexual battery involving a minor child, according to Madison and Rankin County District Attorney Bubba Bramlett. The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department received a call from a local hospital on October 10, 2022, reporting that a juvenile patient was there.

MDOC Commissioner Burl Cain said he began an internal investigation into the death of Ronald Frederick Apgar, 39, over the weekend. According to Cain, Apgar died suddenly of causes that will be determined after an autopsy.
