None of the major political parties have fielded any women candidate from Phulpur and Allahabad Lok Sabha seats despite women voters constituting about 46% of the total electorate in the twin seats. Out of the total 29 candidates in the fray, only 3 are women. Political observers highlight the significance of women voters in previous elections and the strategies of major parties to woo them.
